Christingle
Years 1&2 visited Addington Methodist Church for their annual Christingle service with Benny and Caryl. The children learnt about Christingle and why it is celebrated around the world. Each child took an orange with them to the Church and decorated it to show the significance of each part. The children wrapped red tape around the orange (World) to illustrate Jesus’ blood and sacrifice and 4 cocktail sticks were added to show the 4 seasons, which they decorated with sweets. Then they placed a candle in the middle to represent light. As always a lovely morning to get us all in the Christmas spirit.
